Hi Friends!
We leave for Cambodia in less than 20 days!!
At our meeting this past Sunday we reviewed our TENTATIVE itinerary for the trip, with the key word there being 'tentative'! We will have to leave our western scheduling behind and stay flexible as we travel from town to village in Cambodia. Here is a glimpse of our tentative schedule to help keep track of us over the 2 weeks we are in country.June 26th - Meet at Davisville in the afternoon to catch our late flight from JFK to Frankfurt Germany. We will have a layover in Germany and then fly to our second layover in Singapore.
June 28th - Land in Cambodia on the morning of the 28th
June 29th - Meet with Refuge For the Poor partners and travel to Thamada Village for our first clinic day
June 30th - Travel to Boeung Krum Village for clinic #2
July 1st - Long travel day to Preah Vihear. Meet with Preah Vihear (PV) partners.
July 2nd - Travel to Plas Prai for clinic #3
July 3rd - Travel to Oh Kawak for clinic #4
July 4th - Travel to Baw for clinic #5
July 5th - Travel to Siem Reap
July 6th - Visit Angor Wat with PV partners.
July 7th - Return to Phenom Penh. Drop off extra meds and supplies to Mercy Medical Center.
July 8/9th - Leave for the airport where we will fly to Singapore for a layover and then to JFK for a late afternoon arrival back at Davisville!
Individually and within our smaller groups we have been working on writing thank you cards to our supporters, preparing medical education materials, organizing the donated supplies, reading up on the Cambodian culture, practicing some of our Khmer phrases, and praying to prepare our hearts for this adventure and this mission that God has called us to.
The team will be meeting on the 15th to organize and pack the medications and donated supplies. We are hoping to fit everything into about 9 suitcases each under 50 pounds (pray for us!). If you are still interested in donating supplies, our Amazon Wishlist will be active until June 12th.
We ask that you continue to pray for us. Here are some updated prayer requests:
- Pray that we work well as a team
- Pray we will rely on God for the things we think we are comfortable with and with those things we know we are not
Pray that God will show us the beauty of the Cambodian people and His compassion on them
Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support!
