GoMed Mock Clinic

Triage Time!

Welcome to our blog page detailing our medical missions trip to Cambodia.  We hope to keep you updated on our travels and experiences.  Thank you all for partnering with us, supporting us, and especially praying for us.  We would not be on this adventure without YOU!

Well folks, things just got real.   On Wednesday, April 13th, we had our mock clinic!  We had the opportunity to practice our triage skills, hygiene and missionary teaching.  We were given various assignments that probably took us out of our comfort zones.  I'm used to teaching, so of course, I was assigned to triage - assessing our "patients'" medical concerns.  Those of us familiar with the medical end of things got to practice our educational communications.  Our patients were some terrific kids, falling in the age range of K-5th grades.  They were incredibly fun and creative!  They were attentive and asked great questions.  It was some really solid practice for us and I'm thankful for their openness!

In the mean time, we are busy getting all of our vaccinations taken care of and making sure we have all of our supplies in order.  Who knew all the vaccinations one would need to travel outside the US!  Passports have been updated and visa applications are being processed.  Now onto learning a little of the Khmer language and what we need to know about the people and their culture!

We are leaving for Cambodia on Sunday, June 26th.  If you would like to come and pray over us and the trip as a whole, you will have that opportunity on Sunday, June 19th.  Check back for more details.
